CloudFiles Uploader Widget Explained
The CloudFiles Uploader Widget is a Lightning Web Component (LWC) designed for use inside Salesforce screen flows. It replaces Salesforce’s native file upload component by allowing users to upload documents directly to external storage systems—like SharePoint, Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, or AWS S3—bypassing Salesforce file storage completely.
What It Does
- Enables file uploads from Salesforce Flows to external storage
- Displays file names in real time for confirmation
- Returns uploaded file metadata for further Flow processing
- Helps avoid Salesforce file storage limits and costs

How It Works
When embedded in a screen flow:
- Admins define the destination using input parameters (library, drive ID, folder ID)
- Users upload files via the widget interface
- The widget shows uploaded file names during the session
- Uploaded data is returned as a resource list (output variable)
- Output resets if the page is refreshed or the Flow is closed
